Amazingly, the right words at the right time have the power to change our attitudes instantly. It moves our hearts from gloomy to joyful, our minds from confusion to clarity, and even puts a smile on our faces.

Telling the truth comes from the heart through the lips of a person who desires to honor God. Truth-telling is something we can show and tell our children every day. Remind your kids that God loves honesty—it’s like a kiss on the lips. 

Challenges need to be shared and discussed but make a habit of letting your family share the good news of the day. God’s Word promises that it will refresh us and cause our hearts to rejoice.

Let’s be conscious of the meaning, the volume, the tone, and the facial expressions that set the context. Let’s thoughtfully and intentionally speak life-giving words. Let’s watch our tongue!

We work productively, earn the appropriate degrees, develop healthy relationships, pray and participate as citizens, and use our money as good stewards. But we cannot trust in any of these alone. Victory rests with the Lord.

If you truly love God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength, then the things you desire and do will be in line with his plans.

Self-counsel. It will get you into trouble every time. Left to ourselves, we can rationalize just about anything…even sin.

So…here we have two people. One who will do what they want to do, when they want to do it; it’s their way or the highway! The other person is humble enough to check their heart, talk to God, and get advice from others who love God. Hmm, I wonder who’s going to make the best decision.
