Family Strong: To Have and to Hold
You have heard the vows before. Maybe you used these or similar vows on your wedding day. To have and to hold from this day forward. For better or for worse. For richer or for poorer. In sickness and in health. As long as we both shall live. These vows, or ones like them, are spoken at virtually every one of the 5,918 weddings that take place each day in the United States. Unfortunately, too many of those who say, “I do,” end up saying, “I don’t.”
Ask. Seek. Knock.
Seek those things that honor him. Stay on the path of obedience, then you will receive the great blessings God has for you.
Great and Awesome
How do you respond to a God like our God? Only one way. Worship him with your entire life!
Keep From What Could Have Been
Keep asking God to point out the distractions in your life.
Praying for Our Children and Grandchildren
Keep praying for God’s favor, protection, and presence for your children and grandchildren throughout the day.
A Search for Meaning
Fear God (live a life of worship), keep His commandments (He knows what He’s talking about), and don’t forget the judgment (one day we will give an account before God).
Keep The Banner Lifted High
What banner do you hold high as you go into battle each day? If you hold the banner of self-sufficiency, independence or personal ambition, you will lose the battle every time. But if you hold high the name of the Lord, marching under his standard, he will give you the strength to defeat each foe.
Keep Believing
Maybe you can relate to the emotions of Zechariah and Elizabeth. Maybe a longing of your heart has not been fulfilled. I challenge you to keep believing. God is not finished writing your story. He may still meet the longing of your heart…or He may give you a new dream.
