Episode 100 God in the Oval Office: Faith, Power, and the Presidency

I enjoyed this conversation with Dr Smith about the faith of our Presidents. When I visited Mt Vernon with my family we went to Washington’s tomb on the property. A man next to us was telling his family that Washington was
an atheist. I found that alarming and strange since we were all looking at the scripture verse carved into the tomb, “I am the resurrection and the life, he that believeth in me, though he were dead yet shall he live.” John 11/25. This says it all about Washington’s faith to me.
