Stuff
Fresh Start: Transformed
We can get settled in this life of ours. We describe our activities with words of permanence. We get married and “settle down.” We become “established” in our careers. We “build” a house. We acquire stuff—some cool stuff—that we appreciate and enjoy…sometimes a little too much.
ENGAGE: First Things First
Most people live for the stuff. Not always bad stuff, but stuff nonetheless. The career. The home. The school. The activities for the kids. The social group. The retirement plan. The weekend activities. The getaways. All the right stuff ... just in the wrong order. When we live for stuff, at the end of the day, that’s exactly what we have—a bunch of stuff. Jesus says to flip the order.
Living Bread
The things of this world will satisfy for a while. That’s exactly why worldly stuff presents such a danger.
Bread of Life
Jesus is the Bread of Life. He came down from heaven to fill our spiritual hunger. All who trust in him will be spiritually satisfied…forever.
Ritual or Reality
Can you believe in the promise of God to satisfy you without all the other stuff? Is there anything in your life you need to relent?
Fine Pearls
Jesus offers you a personal relationship with Him. Are you ready to turn from the stuff you’ve been chasing and accept His free gift of eternal life?
Gladness of Heart
When we find our calling and have a biblical understanding of “stuff,” our days are not about groaning and griping, complaining and carping, fear and fret, apprehension and anxiety. “God keeps [us] occupied with gladness of heart.” Is that cool or what?
Doing Great Things ... the Wrong Way
Many believers think that as long as they are obeying God in the “big” stuff, all is well. But God calls for obedience even in the details.
