Spirit

A God-Centered Relationship
Image

God so loved the world that He sent His Son. Jesus, fully-God and fully-man, died on the cross as the penalty for our sin. When we trust in the Son, the Father accredits Christ’s righteousness to us and declares us “not guilty.” God the Spirit takes up residence in us and enables us to live a life that pleases God.

Our Creator and Protector

God the Father: The All-Powerful Creator. God the Son: The Agent of Creation, Re-Creation and Resurrection. God the Spirit: The Protector and Nurturer. How can we respond to such a powerful, gracious and loving God? Only one way - bow down and worship him. Why don’t you do that right now? Start the new year on your knees before the Triune God.

God was with John as he grew and “became strong in spirit.”

Watch and Pray

Jesus’ command to His disciples rings through the ages, “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.” Moment by moment, day by day, watch and pray. Temptation is always around the corner. A fall is only a step away.

Ministry of Guidance

It is the Spirit who directs us when we are confronted with these types of decisions. He is our Counselor who opens our eyes to see the right path to take. It is His ministry to lead us into all truth. David said, “I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me” (Psalm 16:7). Even when we close our eyes in rest, the Spirit speaks to our hearts.

Love Expressed

Love is an action word. It is not hidden or hinted at. When you love someone you don’t want that person to be unsure of your emotions. When you love someone you say it and show it. Love is expressed in tangible ways.

With You and In You

When God the Son took on flesh, He accepted the limitations that came with a human body. He could be in only one place at a time, but God the Spirit has no such limitations. Jesus said, “He lives with you and will be in you.” As believers, we can live with confidence that God, through His Holy Spirit, will always be present with us.
