Speak
ENGAGE: Making the Time
Why don’t people spend more time talking with God? Why don’t I spend more time talking with God? We can all give our excuses, but at the end of the day, we must make time to speak and listen to our heavenly Father. Jesus made this his priority early in the morning.
Road Rules: Words
The problem with the talker? Sooner or later, they tell a story they shouldn’t. They take a “just between you and me” and make it headline news. They contradict themselves, leaving people scratching their heads. They exaggerate or embellish the facts. They say some things they regret and many things they can’t remember.
The Good Shepherd
Listen to the Good Shepherd’s voice. He knows you, loves you, and cares for you! He will always speak the words you need to hear, just when you need to hear them.
Words
Think before you speak. That simple exercise is going to keep you from a lot of sin and regret.
False Teachers
False prophets and teachers will be around until the end of time. Therefore, we need to know how to spot them. Ezekiel 13 gives us three important things to look for.
When Words are Many
Weigh your words. Hold your tongue. Think before you speak. That simple exercise is going to keep you from a lot of sin and regret.
Speak Up!
If you have the needed information, speak up! When you don’t your silence is sin.
Silence
Why would a man who claimed to be God’s Son remain silent before human authorities? How could one who resisted the temptations of Satan submit to the torment of soldiers? How could a man speak with such power and now refuse to register a defense? Why would a man who walked on water march to His death without a fight? How could a man who raised the dead…die?
