Salvation
All I Want for Christmas: Joy
Jesus was a great teacher, but education was not the reason for his coming. Jesus was a great leader, but simply learning leadership principles from the life of Jesus misses his primary purpose.
All I Want for Christmas: Peace
Simeon was a righteous and devout man, full of the Holy Spirit. His heart was set on the peace that God’s Anointed One would bring to his people. He had waited a long time.
All I Want for Christmas: Peace
Israel was in chaos. They lived under the tyranny of Rome. The Jewish people were taxed into poverty. They desperately needed peace. Some thought that peace would come through a military general. Others wanted a political leader to overthrow the Roman government from the inside.
Ecclesiastes: Wisdom and Death
Every day is someone’s last day. But for those who know Jesus as my dad did, our final day on earth becomes our first day in heaven. When believers are absent from the body, they are present with the Lord. So, here is the one question on life’s exam you must know the answer to. When your body is in a box under the sun, where will your soul be?
The Initiator
Believers are commanded to explain what it means to trust in Jesus clearly, and believers are commanded to demonstrate what following Jesus looks like in real life. But no one can be coerced or forced into salvation.
The Ultimate Surrender
A savior must be sinless to die sacrificially for the sin of others. Since all humans are sinful, he must be God, and to die on man’s behalf; he must be man.
Horn of Salvation
Jesus is the horn of salvation. He is the only One who has the power to save.
The Branch
The Branch provided eternal salvation and security to his people — those who trust in him alone as the only way to have a relationship with the living God.
