Redeemed

Temptation comes from three sources: The world. The flesh. The devil (Ephesians 2:1-3). While all three of these sources are involved in temptation, one will lead the way. Today, let’s focus on the times when the world takes the lead.

In the first chapter of the Bible, Elohim, the powerful and sovereign God, created the heavens and the earth. In Genesis 2, God became personal. Along with the name that describes his power, God added his personal name—Yahweh. The LORD God (Yahweh Elohim) stooped down and breathed into Adam the breath of life, making him a living being.

The fear of insignificance must be confronted. Positive self-talk won’t do it. A TED talk on individual value will fall short. Only the truth of God’s Word, impressed by God’s Spirit, can move us to find significance. Through the understanding of God’s Word, we switch the focus from who we are to Whose we are.

We are sinners and cannot pay our debt. Our best efforts fall short, so God did for us what we could not do for ourselves. He is our Ga-al, our Redeemer. He sent his son to release us.

We are confident that God will complete the good work he has started in us.

Let's live today in such a way that people take note of our deep joy and deliberate rejoicing.
