Protector

Conflicts are hard. And they are extremely difficult when the issue is with your own children. That’s where King David found himself in today’s psalm. His son Absalom had gained a strong following and was intent on dethroning his dad. David and his household were forced to flee for their lives (2 Samuel 15-18).

Paul says that our struggles are not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces.

God is certain. He will hold you steady when your world seems like it is falling apart.

David’s confidence was grounded in the fact that God answered his calls for help.

God the Father: The All-Powerful Creator. God the Son: The Agent of Creation, Re-Creation and Resurrection. God the Spirit: The Protector and Nurturer. How can we respond to such a powerful, gracious and loving God? Only one way - bow down and worship him. Why don’t you do that right now? Start the new year on your knees before the Triune God.

It’s tough when you are involved in a serious conflict. It is devastating when that conflict is with one of your children.
