Preparing

Recently, Lori and I had breakfast with a couple whom we have known for a long time. They were in town because their daughter (and youngest child) was beginning her freshman year of college. The wife came to Pittsburgh thirty years ago as a foreign exchange student. She was an atheist until God grabbed her heart and loving “sponsors” (who became her spiritual parents) showed her what it looked like to love Jesus. The husband had been a Muslim until God transformed his life and gave him a heart to share Jesus.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

All heaven looked on as God wrote his story of love in living letters.

The heart of the person who makes room for Jesus is filled, changed, and transformed.

Jesus learned obedience through suffering…all the way to the cross.

He is using today to prepare you for tomorrow. He will never waste your time.

The sovereign God used Augustus to move his chosen couple from Nazareth to Bethlehem.

We all need a Savior to save us from our sins that separate us from God.

The Promise was called “Immanuel.” Through Jesus, God is with us…forever!
