What do you do when you can’t pray? When the words won’t come. When your soul is exhausted. The great missionary J. Hudson Taylor came to that point. When anxiety filled his heart, he said, “I can’t read. I can’t think. I can’t pray. But I can trust.” We can all trust and know that the Holy Spirit is praying for us at a level we cannot comprehend.

Sing a hymn of praise to the God who is always worthy.

I can praise God even when I stand before fruitless trees, failed crops, and empty stalls.

Through it all, the Father is right there with you. Whatever your present state, you can experience and enjoy (yes, enjoy) the journey with Him.

Sing in spite of the chains that are holding you back. I can’t promise deliverance from your situation, but I can promise freedom within your situation. God will work in His way and in His time.

Can I delight in God when yet another burden is piled on my heavy heart? Habakkuk teaches me that true joy in “God my Savior” is independent of my current issues.

He desires to pick up the heavy pack and carry it for you. God our Savior is the One who “daily bears our burdens!”
