Giving

God’s Word has a lot to say about money. And Proverbs addresses the subject often. Let’s read today’s proverb, and then I will give ten ways to evaluate your giving to God’s work.

The apostle Peter had a question about forgiveness. When he asked Jesus how many times a person should be forgiven, Jesus told the story of a king who wanted to settle his accounts.

God is not worthy of our leftovers. We should worship him with the firstfruits—the best—of our time and money. This proverb reminds us that God blesses obedience.

Jesus’ life and death were acts of relent for you and me. He bought us by his death and brought us together as the church through his ultimate surrender.

Giving is not about amounts; it is about our attitude.

The merciful put their money, resources, time, and energy where their mouth is.

Let us remember that every act of service is significant to God.

God wants to help you! The Father comes to help us on the journey by giving us what we don’t deserve. That’s called grace.
