Forever

Do we believe that we will one day stand before Christ and give an explanation of our lives? Do we really believe that the life we live today will determine the account we give tomorrow?

“He is the Maker of heaven, and earth, the sea and everything in them.” He “remains faithful forever.” Blessed is the one whose confidence is in Him.

The same God who created the stars loves you so much that He sent His Son to die on the cross so that you could be His friend forever. Ponder that!

Success can lock you into pride and pride always sits on the top of a very slippery slope.

There is only one “monument” that can stand - a life transformed by Jesus. It is erected by grace through faith, “decorated” by the atoning blood of the Perfect Sacrifice. And there in its deep solid foundation is chiseled the name of its Maker. This life will stand forever.

What’s the truth we can learn from God’s immutable nature? God will do whatever he says. God will fulfill whatever he promises. No action of God will be left undone.

Aaron’s “Priestly Blessing” is a great prayer to pray for our children. I introduced this prayer yesterday and considered the first three requests. Here are the final four.

The Promise was not a politician who came to change the laws of the land. The Promise was not a philosopher who came to teach morality. The Promise did not come as a military leader ready to take troops into battle. The Promise did not appear as a religious leader paving a way for man to work his way to God. The Promise “became flesh and made his dwelling among us.”

What an amazing scenario! The people chose to have a dangerous man back on the streets rather than have Jesus live. The innocent would die. The guilty went free. The same applies today. The spotless Lamb of God bore our sin in His body on the cross. He died in our place so we could be free forever.
