Fellowship
Fresh Start: Filled with the Fullness of God
I am writing this devo from a packed airplane. It was snowing, windy, and cold when we took off, but we’ll land in seventy-degree weather. After speaking at a church, I’ll get back on a plane and return to the cold. Life is a bit like my travels over the next couple of days. Some circumstances bring the blowing cold; others bring the warm sunshine.
ENGAGE: Filled with Awe
After Jesus ascended, the Holy Spirit descended, just as Jesus had promised. Filled with the Holy Spirit, the apostles began to speak in the native tongues of all those gathered in Jerusalem for the Feast of Weeks. Some made fun of the apostles, and others accused them of being drunk, but at the end of the day, three thousand people trusted in Jesus as their Savior.
ENGAGE: Filled with Awe
Far too many Christians today are all about wanting the awe. They just don’t have much interest in the Scripture, fellowship, communion, and prayer part. Today’s passage reminds us that God leads us to awe…through the basic disciplines of the faith.
Praying for Our Children and Grandchildren
Grace is God’s undeserved favor. He gives us what we don’t deserve.
The Fellowship of the Living God
When we trust in Jesus as the only way to know God, we are set free from our old clothes and our old way, and finally can enjoy the fellowship of the living God.
Feasts of Focus
He desires me to take a break. He wants me to get away and reconnect with him. And he must smile when he sees us enjoying food and fellowship with other believers.
