When the angel Gabriel came to Mary, she was greatly troubled. Imagine her shock and dismay as the angel suddenly appeared and said, “Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you!” (Luke 1:28). Mary’s fear was visibly evident as Gabriel continued,

Believers follow Jesus through life, death, and glorious resurrection. Anyone who believes in Jesus “shall never die.” That’s the Good News!

He willingly gave his life on the cross as a sacrifice for our sin. Jesus is the Good Shepherd who laid down his life for us. How will you respond today to such love?

Jesus—fully God and fully man—gave himself up as the perfect sacrifice. Being sinless, he was the only One who did not have to die for his sins. Being man, he was the only One who could die on man’s behalf.

Jesus is the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in him as the only way to God has the assurance of resurrection.

How could a man who raised the dead…die? Confusion filled their hearts. Saturday was silent.

You may feel like Jesus is holding out on you. You may feel like he is staying away during your time of need. I don’t know Jesus’ plan for you. I just know that his plan is bigger than yours and mine. Trust him.

A savior must be sinless to die sacrificially for the sin of others. Since all humans are sinful, he must be God, and to die on man’s behalf; he must be man.

Jesus, Son of God and Son of Man, is the only way that sinful man can have an eternal relationship with the holy God.
