Delight

What do you dream about? What fills your heart with passion? What gives you a sense of significance? What makes you say, “This is what I was put on earth to do!”? Today’s passage provides three focal points in fulfilling our God-given desires.

Sexual intimacy is a gift from God. He invented sex and ordained it to be enjoyed between a man and a woman committed to each other for life. God beautifully described this act as a man and woman becoming one—in body and soul. Sex was never meant to be a physical hook up. God intended it to be an experience of the whole person coming together in a loving and intimate union. 

God wants your life to be enveloped by his peace.

God’s love is something believers need to understand, accept and apply.

Ask God to help you read his Word every day (or keep reading his Word every day).

God sent Jesus to die just for you! That’s how much He loves you! You are a child of the living God. He takes great pleasure in you.

Can I delight in God when yet another burden is piled on my heavy heart? Habakkuk teaches me that true joy in “God my Savior” is independent of my current issues.
