David

David, the great king, died, but Jesus defeated death itself by rising from the grave.

Jesus is the Son of David, the Messiah, the One you have been waiting for! Allow him to rule over your heart, and you will experience the peace and security you have longed for.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

What do I have to pass on to those who follow?

How about you? What are you planting today that you may never see grow?

Self-counsel. It will get you in trouble every time.

Do you have anything that turns your heart away from God? It doesn’t matter if it is one thing or many things. God does not tolerate rivals. You are either fully devoted to Him or you’re not. Which is it?

No one sails on calm waters all the way home. Our ship will get rocked! But today’s passage gives us great truths to nail down. And as we sail for home, we can say with David, “Who is God besides the Lord?”

Although he was the king’s son, Jonathan acknowledged David as the next king and made the sacrifices necessary for that to happen.
