Where does temptation come from? Does it come from our own desires that wage war within us? Does it come from the world, a culture that opposes God? Or does all temptation come from Satan? Do we blame our sin on ourselves, the anti-God culture, or Satan?

Yesterday we focused on the assignment that God gives every husband. And we emphasized that it is a very tall order! Every husband is to love his wife just as Christ loved the church. Today we’ll focus on the biblical instruction for wives from Ephesians 5. Let’s be receptive to understanding what is truly expected.

While Christian parents know what’s at stake, we also know that the culture subtly rubs off on our children. So how can we protect and guard our homes? How can we stay family strong?

To say that Jesus is the truth is to say that there is no speck of doubt or hint of question in who he is, what he does, and what he says. Jesus is God!

Today God is looking for people who will stand in the breach.

Wisdom begins with God.

Here’s the question. As God looks for someone to build up the wall and stand before Him in the gap, whom will He find? Here’s the bigger question - will He find you?

I love the prayer of Agur. His desire for integrity and dependence is the crying need of a culture bent on doing whatever it takes to get ahead and saturated in self-dependence. Thankfully, we Christians do not have to be influenced by our culture.

Let’s not leave it to our culture to teach us how to die. God’s Word is the only place we find the promise of eternal life.
