Change

Salt, a mineral vital to life, is unlike anything else. It has a distinct taste, which is imparted to anything with which it is mixed. It is used as a seasoning and a preservative. Salt makes an impact! Even a little salt sprinkled in a bowl of soup or on a pile of fries changes the taste of the food.

A friend called Lori to say she was scared and feeling helpless. She was watching the news, absorbing all that was going on in the world, and was overwhelmed. She saw the craziness and confusion and reached out for encouragement.

Until 70 AD, when the temple was destroyed, practicing Jews would travel to Jerusalem to celebrate feasts and worship. During their travels, they would sing songs together. These “Psalms of Ascent” are found in Psalms 120-134. Today’s song reminds us that our great God is the Maker of heaven and earth.

Today we read an amazing story about amazing grace. A woman who had led a sinful life was ready to head in a different direction, so she found the Great Agent of Change. This account is a powerful reminder: Jesus did not turn sinners away…whatever their sin…neither should we.

My prayer is that through these past months we have come to know the Father in a deeper and more meaningful way.
