Position Overview

Are you a strong writer and editor with exceptional attention to detail, a love for clear communication, and the ability to organize and refine content with excellence?

The Content Development Editor helps transform decades of trusted biblical teaching into polished, accessible resources for future publication and ministry distribution. This role requires strong editorial judgment, excellent writing and grammar skills, comfort using AI-assisted content tools, and the ability to maintain the voice and theological integrity of existing ministry content.

This is a flexible, fully remote independent contractor role requiring approximately 5–10 hours per week.


Primary Responsibilities

Content Editing & Development

Edit and refine sermon transcripts, devotionals, manuscripts, and ministry resources
Prepare clean, publication-ready drafts for review
Review and update previously published content for republication
Assist in transforming sermon series into books, Bible studies, and discussion guides
Develop discussion questions and supplemental study content

AI-Assisted Content Workflow

Use AI platforms (such as Claude) to assist in organizing and refining ministry content
Review and improve AI-generated drafts for clarity, accuracy, tone, and theological consistency
Collaborate in organizing searchable ministry content archives and resource systems

Research & Resource Development

Pull existing teaching content from the ministry knowledge base/data archive
Assist in organizing topical and expositional teaching resources
Support future publishing and curriculum development initiatives


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Exceptional writing, grammar, and editing skills
  • Strong English/literature/editorial background preferred
  • Experience in publishing, editing, curriculum development, journalism, or related work
  • Ability to maintain voice consistency across projects
  • Comfortable using AI-assisted writing and editing tools
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and self-directed
  • Ability to handle confidential and unpublished materials with discretion
  • Familiarity with biblical teaching and ministry environments preferred

Time Commitment

  • About 5-10 hours per week
  • Flexible remote scheduling
  • Project-based deadlines may occasionally require additional hours

Compensation

  • Hourly contractor rate (based on experience)
  • Hours must be tracked and submitted
  • Independent contractor agreement required
