Obey
Light in the Darkness: Walking in Obedience
One writer captures our need to trust God when he writes, “You’re a soul made by God, made for God, and made to need God, which means you were not made to be self-sufficient.” Trusting in ourselves, our achievements, and our accomplishments is a losing proposition. Great men and women of God were people of faith. Abraham trusted God’s leading, even when he didn’t know where he was going.
Promises: Repentance and Forgiveness
David’s sin of adultery led to his great prayer for repentance. Yesterday we noted where true repentance begins. Here are three more important steps.
A Lamp Shining
The written Word of God, made more certain by fulfilled prophecy, is like “a lamp shining in a dark place.” The psalmist said it this way, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105).
Ecclesiastes: Living and Leaving - Live for Jesus
You are serving the Lord Christ! Fearing God is more than just morning devotions and weekend worship. He has given us the gift of life to love, respect, honor, and obey him…with all our might! Live for Jesus and live to the fullest.
Ecclesiastes: Work For the Lord
Solomon counted his hours, measured the family sacrifices, thought of all the sleepless nights worrying about an upcoming deadline, and concluded that it was all useless. There “was nothing to be gained under the sun.” Looking through humanistic eyes, he found that there was nothing to show at the end of the day for the physical and emotional toll caused by work.
Set Free
When we “know (and obey) the truth,” we will find the freedom in Christ we have been looking for.
Partnership
We cannot do what God must do, and God will not do what we should do. How’s your partnership with Jesus?
High Priest
He is ready to give you all the help you need to resist and obey. He invites us to approach him with confidence. What are you waiting for?
